We're back

Hi everyone,
Michelle here - just a quick hello to say we've returned to our office with fixed Wifi so contact with us is now more consistent that the past 12 weeks or so that we were working from the road.

I have a huge backlog of photos, stories, updates, and content from the trip to do and in a few days will start preparing blogs, newsletters, and new video tutorials for new app users.

David will be working on a new update to the app with a very exciting new feature or two and of course we commence the big project of EOTopo 2023 map production - but we are only about to start the first stage of a 6 month project which is the data collection/analysis/compilation. It will take a couple of months to work through this stage before the generation of the digital maps.

I appear to have stayed adequately on top of the communication channels whilst we were working on the road but if you have any outstanding issues or queries please feel welcome to make contact....
Phone calls are probably the best - the number is on the ExplorOz website in the About page.

Most times I can quickly sort things out unless too complicated. There are no known bugs in the current latest version of the Traveller app 7.3.6 and we have no reports of any common issue occurring with either the Traveller or Tracker apps. And our entire trip has been tracked flawlessly and everything in the mapping and app worked as it should. We did however have a few other travel mishaps which I'll tell in my upcoming trip blogs. I can't wait to share my photos, edit up my videos (some epic driving) and work up all this new content.

Regards Michelle

Gday Michelle, I have one request you maybe be able to put in coming updates, that I’d putting names on well known tracks.
Example: Old Coach Road in Cape York it isn’t named, if you have no idea where it is you will never find it. That’s just one I’ve found.
Cheers Dennis

Hi Michelle and David
Great to hear that you made it back home safely. Looking forward to reading of your adventures.
Encouraging to know that you gave the nav app a good workout with no issues too.
Kindest regards

Thanks Roy, yes the app performed flawlessly for the 10,000km stage 2 leg of this outback WA and NT section over the past 10 weeks. We even made 2 app updates whilst away to add new features and tweaks features based on testing and improvements we wanted for dealing with offline recognition in patchy service areas to improve stability and speed of editting public places. We were doing so many Place updates and looking carefully at that feature and think the improvements were very worthwhile. Everything else like tracking etc has always worked faultlessly and all our devices were being used.

But we did have a couple of hiccups this trip...some mini dramas as my blogs will soon reveal. We used the winch 5 times...we did bush mechanic repairs...we had phone problems and drone problems. But only had 1 wet camp pack up so that's winning isn't it? ;)

Glad you like the photos thanks Nick, unfortunately I got very behind in updating more as we travelled...very difficult to stay on top of it with such limited access to the internet so I'm excited to get the rest up to show asap!

G'day Michelle,
Just would like to say we love the app.
From Victoria & bought it for 3 month trip to remote parts of WA to use mostly offline.
Install was flawless & I find the functions easy to use & if I can't work something the manual is has the answer.
We found some fantastic spots we did not know existed & even got to find a flock of Carnaby's Cockie's thanks to some user information! Our daughter also travelled with us for a short time & she bought it too.
Still 1 1/2 months to go & loving the Wildflowers North of Perth.
Have to watch the tracks though with all the rain.
Great product thank you.
Cheers Stu.

Thank you Stu - hope I'll be seeing this as a review in the app stores too? (hint hint).
Yes the wildflowers here in WA are putting on a great show this season aren't they. But we also were seeing wildflowers back in July in the Pilbara. Spotted sturt desert pea at Coppins Gap in July and just enjoyed the verticordias around the wheatbelt last week. Our young 21 year old has also just headed up north going to Exmouth but had a flooded night in the swag 2 nights ago just north of Perth but says it was dry up near Shark Bay. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Really glad you and David had a decent amount of time away, even if you were "working" most of the time.
Look forward to the stories to come.
Just had a few days away and the Traveller worked flawlessly, along with EOTopo as we were off line.
We now have a lovely new Track Log.
Cheers
Jim
