G'day mates,
arrieved in Perth and found a good car with trailer :)

Perth Home, Ocean and my car and trailer
Sorry, only in german.

All important changes made (except winch, will be done later).

Now's the hottest question: where to first...
first plan was going south and then east to Port Augusta, Wilpena Pound,...
OR
Up north maybe a small detour to Kalgoorlie and back to Westcoast...

Timeframe: dunno... :) weeks, months???

Looking forward to your suggestions!!!

Heiner

Welcome, with no time frame, I would slowly head North, getting too cold in the South. Enjoy your stay in Oz.

I recall you have been down here in Oz before? If so, a lot depends on what you have already seen - the same as it does for the rest of us. But yes northwards generally to keep out of the colder/wetter southern weather in the next 3-4 months.

If you haven't been that way, you could start heading direct to Alice Springs (i.e. via kalgoorlie/Laverton) and branch out from there (as we often do). Note that transit permits are required to cross aboriginal land each side of the WA/NT border.

Now would indeed be a good time to begin heading northward to warmer weather.
I can't recall your time frame - but you could very easily spend 12 months just exploring WA & not see it all. If not in a rush & the weather is kind, the south west corner of WA is very impressive. Maybe see some of that until the weather starts to get too cool, & then head north. A figure 8 around the country is a nice way to see it if you have no time limits & allows you to follow the desirable weather.

If your into fishing go south for the salmon run and have a look around before it gets too cold. Then head north. Pleasant enough in the south at the moment.

Thx. mates for your answers.

I have mad a decision:

I will slowly move north.
Detour towards the east perhaps also.

Time to destination (Darwin): 3 months or so.

Immer der Nase nach (Would we Germans say).

Dunno if you have a similar quote?
