I’ve searched extensively through here and have only found one thread from August 2020 that addresses my issue but doesn’t provide a solution.

I have a private trek that I wish to share with another ET user, but I can find no way to do this. It seems that once a trek is private it stays that way no matter what.

Is there a method of sharing selected private treks with friends who use ET without making it public? If not, this would be a great feature.

No, not yet but this is one of the items near the top of the list on our development list.
However - they can easily rebuilt your Trek. They will need to know what Places you used and like you did, the app will auto build the Trek route once they add them using GoTo.

Thanks Michelle. Some of the places that I have used are personal so they are not available for others (I think).

I am pleased however that you are looking into this though and will keep my eye open for updates.

Steve pretty easy. Get your friend on the phone, make it public, get them to download it, make it private again. Should be no issue with it being public for less than a minute.
