A desperate manhunt is on to find a German couple who are missing in the Australian outback, just weeks after eloping to Western Australia.
Nathalie Eich, 26, and Benjamin Kress, 29, were married in Kalgoorlie on July 8 and were last seen at 80 Mile Beach on July 21.
They had told family members they were going to travel the
Gibb River Rd in their silver 2002 Nissan Patrol, with Victorian number plates 1MF9YK.

Sad. Hopefully they are just having fun and haven't been able to charge or use their phones to make contact and will do so soon. I am not 100% sure how to interpret the information in the statement - what does "eloping TO WA" mean if you have a vehicle with Victorian plates - does this imply they came to WA across the border? Sounds like there's more to this story...
I had a call from the
Carnarvon police last week making enquiries about another missing couple from NW WA - another international tourist this one from Ireland. I thought everyone would have had to go back
home?
Our son has an international tourist friend who has been in
Perth for a year and now his visa has run out and Australia is making him go back
home - to America! Apparently, the Federal government pay his airfare!
There must be so many people caught up in this in all sorts of ways....
