you'd best to wait and make plans after they announce in june at the earliest if the kimberlies is going to be opened up. Even though our regional borders have been slightly relaxed the kimberlies will be one of the last regions to open up.

Assuming that you can actually go, then Dales is accessible on tar; I prefer the Ecolodge campground. We had a site at the far west end, which gave beautiful sunset views.

We were at Karajini in June '18. We climbed Mt Meharry first then drove up to Dales, arriving late afternoon , to find it full, and we had to camp in the overflow section. This is not huge area like Dales is, and it soon filled up, people arriving well after dark.

We secured some sites in Dales the next morning, in the non-generator area. A dual long drop dunny(Without a doubt the cleanest & most odourless long drop I've ever used, in over 70 years!) about 100M away, but no ablutions available. We went up to the Interpretive Centre, where showers were available but you had to "buy" a key to enter & there was a few waiting. Went back to camp & had a sponge bath.

Thanks for this thread. I'd never paid any attention to Karijini NP. While the gorges seem to get most of the attention, Karijini also looks like a good place to visit some mountain summits. :)

I'd suggest the Eco resort - we stayed at Dales but there isn't as much to do there so most days we drove across. Dales has one gorge/day walk, the Eco resort has quite a few gorges. The road between them was ok - corrugated dirt - but it's 45kms each way so an extra 90kms/day of rattling along a dirt road.
