Towing mirrors

I had the Clearview mirrors installed as part of the purchase of my 2014 D-Max.

I don't give a rats what other people say about them , I would never tow a van without them and even without the van on the split convex and flat mirrors make it much easier what is happening behind and beside you.

If I was buying again, I would probably buy the of eBay or Kogan "san hima" towing mirrors.

Aussie Allround in Broadford Vic, have towing mirrors for many vehicles. Look similar to Clearview etc, For earlier Dmax mine were a bit over $300, Current Dmax catered for. They have the indicators in them. Search the address, might solve your problem. As long as they have the same fitting system, ie, bolts and the plugs simply clip in as normal, no issues. with only 3 bolts per side and 1 plug, I simply remove the mirrors and replace with original when not intending to tow. It would be a pain having wide mirrors fitted in normal use, garages and park bays etc.

I've had Clearview of the last 2 vehicles and love them
The first set were chrome to match the trim. I had to stick gaffa tape to the top to stop the sun reflection off them

I'm happy with the Ocam mirrors on my 2013 Dmax.

If you are looking for fixed have a look at the MSA versions.

If you want removable we've used the Brunsgaard product for about 10 years now towing our off road campers and camper vans all over the country. Very well made, strong and can handle the corrugations and wind from trucks.

Like anything you need to fit them correctly and maintain them.

I don't know if you have noticed the TV show "the Great Australian Doorstep". Amongst other things, it is an unashamed advertorial for Izuzu DMax towing a caravan. The damned thing has no extra mirrors and the caravan is way wider than the tug and its mirrors. A great advertisement for Izuzu....

Clearview also have the option of electric folding mirrors. Great for those tight spots and when in the bush

I have had Clearview mirrors on my last two tow vehicles. IMHO, best towing mirrors around, as well as having indicators built in, some models have electric fold in/out option, but all are manually extended. Yes, expensive, but Aussie designed and researched. Best investment in both their practical use, and supporting an Aussie business. Buying cheap knock offs is why we no longer have a good manufacturing industry in Australia any more.

I had Clearview mirrors fitted to my Ford Ranger 5 years ago and they have been excellent. I tow a Sunland Patriot with great vision down both sides of the van.
The mirrors fold neatly to allow entry to the garage.
