Has anyone driven the road from Balladonia down to Cape Arid. Towing an 18ft van with 4 wheel drive.

We travelled from Condingup, Muzz, up the Parmango Road, joining the Balladonia-Cape Arid Road, about 60kms from Balladonia. This was June ‘18, and it was quite corrugated then. The Parmango Road was somewhat better, looked like it had been maintained more regularly.
Drop your tyre pressures & take your time, it should be okay. It’s a bit further to go via Condingup, but may be quicker, as there’s some bitumen. The road from
Israelite Bay, to Cape Arid turnoff is a bit ordinary, with uneven surface, dips & whoa boys.
Great part of the country! We only glossed over it, as were on a mission. Did get to drive down
the beach from Wyllie Scarp, for about 40 kms, before getting to
Israelite Bay & the old Telegraph Station.

We did a few years ago. My opinion is it won't save time but is an interesting short cut. Down to 20 kph for long periods. Off road caravan and Landcruiser. We were passed by people towing camper trailers doing 80 or more.

I drove it about 3 weeks ago - 80LC with
Kimberley Kamper - and I was doing more like 20 than 80. Yes, it's shorter than the bitumen, but takes longer. Have done it twice now - years ago North to South, this time South to North - and "next time" would use the bitumen. Not worth the trouble.

Drove the northern end a couple of months ago with a ute and camper trailer......... very rough and corrugated.
Would not recommend unless it has been graded.
