Can anyone recommend a lake or beachside spot for camping upper half of nsw (not a tourist park)
Somewhere we can swim, or SUP and the kids can have a swim? — ?
Some where a bit secluded?

You could take a look at some of the National Parks in that region, including Bundjalung NP (Black Rocks
Camp Area) which is north of Yamba, or Yuraygir NP which has a number of campgrounds.
Noting, I'm not sure how secluded these will be during school holidays or during the warmer months. Hard to find anything secluded on a lake or beachside on Australia's east coast these days, especially given many (read most) people have "WikiCamps" on their smart phones...
