good afternoon ladies and Gentlemen of the exploring kind,
My wife and I have to travel, towing the caravan [how aweful L.O.L.] to Queensland for a family reunion in January next year and we have discovered the
Tamworth Music festival is on while we are travelling through that neck of the woods, I have been doing our research for the trip from W.A. and back again and I have found lake keepit as a possible
campground so we can spend some time at the music festival,
As I believe that part of the country is in severe drought, can any one tell us what the condition of the
dam is like please.
Thank you heres hoping the farmers get some rain soon.

Thanks Burto,
I think we will still
camp there as every little bit helps the communities, and from what I have been reading they need every bit of assistance they can get.

There's currently a small puddle about 300m wide by 400m long about 800m from the CP at Keepit, 1% as stated above. Suggest you enquire quickly if its already booked out
Alternatively try other CP within 40km radius

According to a friend in
Tamworth there is talk that if there is no break in the weather and little or no rain the MF may be cancelled due to too much stress on the district.

The organiser of the event (
Tamworth Regional Council ) dismissed that suggestion. Not true. . If you search the local newspaper on.line you'll find that story. They are starting the promotional work baded on some publicity I've seen.

Hi Mark,
thank you for your reply we have already booked the
campsite, as my wife says we are in the area and everywhere is going to be the same, and we will need to be somewhere, so it may as
well be there, and from what we are reading the whole area seems to gather energy and put on special festival events .
we are looking forward to it, and praying the drought lifts by the time we get there not for our sake but for the people that are surviving out there.
