It is called The Lake now. Lots of positive comments on WikiCamps.

Not free anymore. Sites on East side are more expensive (with facilities).
Sites on East side (off Adavale road) cost $5 per person per night for no facilities.

Cheers trevor. We will stay elsewhere. I think 10 dollars a couple with no facilities is a bit much

There is a 'free' camp just a bit closer to town, right next to the bridge on the opposite side of the road.

Cheers trevor. I didnt mean to sould like a tight ass. But for 10 bucks i would rather stay at a pub and put it over the bar as for the free camp you mentioned i think i know it. Much appreciated. ..

That is where we camped. Seems best not to ask the Information Centre for directions, apparently a sore point for some reason. Just go there and set up, no one will move you on. The police did a run through whilst we were there.

We have camped at the lake many times in the past.....but treacherous if some rain happens to eventuate.
For wet or impending weather, Baldy Top off the Toompine road wont leave you stuck
