Heading to the Simpson in about 4 weeks. Anyone know the condition of Eyre Creek, is the crossing passable?

Last I heard it was necessary to use the northern bypass and would be for some time.
Cheers,

Note that the detour adds 80km to the total distance.

Did the diversion around Eyre Creek last week. Very chopped up on all of the dunes. Flat sections of the diversion heavily corrugated in
places, gibber plain rocks make for a slow passage, deep sand in some spots, but very dusty. Interesting scenery though. Plenty of water around.
Birdsville Track in good nick and lots of water at the sides of the road.
cheers
Dunc

Thanks Duncan, looks like we will also need to drive that dusty rough track. All good though, be a bit of new scenery and the rougher it gets the slower we go.
Cheers, Trev.
