Last Sept did it E to W and helped out with trashed tyre incidents. One bloke said he was only doing 90. Maybe some of the time it's OK but it's too fast when it's rocky. Another family had just ruined their second and last spare 150 km east of
Yulara. Luckily the driver got a lift back there but left mum and kids with camper at roadside.... W

This is what I did using
my home made rules
It is a proper road, not a bush track so plan on doing 60kph when on the gravel and dirt, most of the time you will do it comfortably.
Slow down for the rough stuff and speed up when on the tarred bits.
It is so long you are always going to find good and bad bits dependent on the graders and the weather
( my tyre pressure should be about 75% of highway pressure and I don't go faster than three times my tyre pressure)
