Darwin caravan parks

Caravan parks in the greater Darwin area will often NOT take bookings that are only for a few days during the period June to September unless you are booking for at least 4 weeks.

They generally work on the first in first served basis, and that means that you have to be standing in their office around 09.00 hrs on the day of arrival.

The same also applies to Broome and Port Headland.

We stayed at Howard Springs van park about 10 years ago. We weren’t in a van or camper trailer, but in one of their cabins.

Park seemed very tidy, amenities were okay & there was little noise from nearby streets & the Stuart Highway. We’d definitely stay there again, whether camping or in a cabin. Perhaps a little far from Darwin CBD, but there’s plenty to see away from the city, and would suit your intended use, DB.

Years ago we stayed at lee pt c p after trying to get into a few parks closer to town. It was a great spot, walks down to the beach, magnificent sunsets, ww2 bunkers just back from beach. Close enough to town to see everything. Would recommend

I am surprised at most of the replays which are not what was asked.If it helps I have been travelling from Perth to Darwin and beyond every year for the past 12 years and I usually always stay at Lee Point caravan park.It is not what it used to be in the days when you had to stand in line to get in and the park is quite rundown from what it was but would be perfect for a few days and you would definitely get in without booking even in high season as that's when I go and it is not even 2/3 full.It is very convenient as there is a huge shopping centre 10 mins away(Casuarina) and only 25 mins into the city.There are large open sites with shade ideal for your camper.
