Hi there,

My old Galaxy 10.1 is showing its age. With all the updates etc over the years its too slow now and the battery has deteriorated also.

What's a good current medium range Android 10.1 with GPS so I an run Ozi?
I don't/wouldn't use too many other features as I have a laptop for that.

Cheers
Alan

Samsung 10 inch tablet. 8 inch is also good and easier to attach to windscreen.

Al, stick with what you know mate. Can't go wrong with a new Samsung S3 9.7 LTE. I've been running mine on the quad and car for 2 years now without an issue. Presume you'll be running ozi for android. I've also got it running on my Galaxy Tab A 7" for a slightly smaller format and as a backup unit.

I just picked up a near new S3 9.7 for $500 through fleabay and set it up with Ozi for Drew (where you picked the quad up from at Kangaroo Ground). He's very happpy wiith it.

Can't go wrong with a samsung mate.

Cheers,

Mick

Mick, the "girl" at the retail store didn't have a clue - and I was ready for a purchase.

I'll take you advice and stick with Samsung I think- though yours looks like it has a sim card. I only need wireless and if I ever am near reception utilise my wireless router (will possibly use it also for drone control instead of phone, maybe).

If you haven't already check out and download my page file - Oziexplorer Page files for Samsung 10.1, in the download files section. Bit old now (4 years) but I wrote it for people like you and me.
Cheers

Cheers Al. I've got the LTE model but haven't bothered with a SIM card. It's a nice backup to have though which is why I opted for it.

Cheers.

Apologies for the hijack / sidetrack but couldn't resist as this reminded me of something similar !

" Mick, the "girl" at the retail store didn't have a clue "

About 15 years ago I sent the missus into town to get a new "stylus" for the turn table on my once very expensive and old stereo system as it was stuffed - gave her the make and model number of the unit and she then headed to the biggest music shop in town. She approached the counter and asked the very young and attractive sales girl and asked " would you possibly have a stylus for a turn table ? "

The young lass replied - " are they in the top ten ? " lol

Oh to be young again !!

Cheers

Whilst most tablets will be OK for OZI, some are not OK for Wiki Camps. Make sure that the tablet has a compass. My Lenovo does not have one and whilst its OK for OZI, I still have to use my Samsung for satelite finding on Wiki Camps.

I ended up getting a 10.1 with no SIM card for 350 dollars.
It exceeds my expectations, ozi hasn't locked up once.
Waiting for sunrise just west of f crossing, about to head down the csr
