Paint issues

if the spraying technique is odd or not similar to how it was sprayed at factory the metallic can gather causing a different look . If the spray gun was dry or very wet his can cause different effects .
Then u just get wrong product/paint,, incorrect prep [a different grade of paper will cause different gloss ].
It never ceases to amaze me that paint defects just donot come thru on a camera.
Need to get other opinions from other panel shops .

First claim 10,500$ almost write off
Yes I have had paint defects in a Yaris totalling 5000-7000$
grinder marks in paint
Complete front both guards bumper bonnet were repaired again and resprayed
Bumper was replaced

Hilux bumper repaired incorrectly . 2 times redone Initial repair was 10,000$
3rd time done somewhere else new bumper 2000$

Panel shops are far from perfect.
Its always advisable to use insurance . Most have life warranty.

Looks like the front door is darker, but with those metallic paints that can just be the angle.

I am no expert but the rear door looks lighter in the photos. It seems to me the base coat needs more black in it. Another thing is the clear coat that goes over the top of the base coat. How many clear coats are on the original paint factory job, and did they apply the same amount of coats on the rear door without pissing out ( over spraying it ) onto the front door and rear quarter panel. If the rear and front had extra clear coats, that will also change the colour depth. Metallic paints are also a problem as there are so many different fleck combinations to add to the base coat. As I say, I am not and expert in this field but did work in a panel shop for many years just before all these new paint systems came on the market. I worked as a dismantler and assembler

I work with painters and am reliably informed that silver can be a bastard to colour match. I too have a silver vehicle and the back passenger door is a tad off when in the right light.

Take it back and get them to have another go.

As for the front being too dark; so its Toyota's fault for painting the rest of the vehicle the wrong colour?
Seriously?? The front 1/2 is a nice deep gloss, but the back 1/2 is significantly lighter and lacks the depth.

Explore Oz with it. A little mismatched paint will be the least of your worries, and hardly discernible under all that red dust.

I can see from Brisbane that your car is 2 different colours. If it was my car it would be going back.

May be there was ding in the drivers door prior to delivery and Toyota repaired it
before putting on the dealership floor?
The dealership or Toyota should have a record.
The drivers door appears darker than the rest of the vehicle
