Being connected with a yr 12, what used to be called "Technical Design and Development" requires for assessment, that the paticipant surveys the field of consumers so a degree of research is/can be shown to have been done, ie, legitimises the work to the end assessor.
Unfortunately the people, this is the third such request, don't tell all, with the approach and the responders, us, don't necessarily know what it is ultimately intended.
The participant/student may already know and have trawled the googly thing for related info. There is a vast mutitude of these devices already marketed and that info would swamp any which we provide.
We use them but don't have specs or performance data or responses for most other factors, we just use them and they seem ok. No tummy bug yet? For a period of time I assessed such work and the survey is just one part to satisfy the assessing teacher who usually isn't savvy in the area. They come from ALL areas of so called Technology.
Just answering survey questions doesn't really do much for the student who may go on to invent something new because they have ability. Great
well thought out comments will assist even if they aren't direct answers to survey questions.
PS, I feel sorry for some students because they are required to select something or concept to investigate for course work and often are not provided with sufficient guidance by their teacher.
