We have had little luck trying to find a cabin/cottage as high in the Victorian High Country as possible to use as a base
camp. To cold for a tent at the moment.
The higher and remote the better - just need 240V and a comfortable bed - we are both 70.
Can anyone help with any suggestions?

How high are you thinking? If you much higher than
Dargo you are up in the snow fields, in which case you could just stay in
Dargo, heaps of good day trips from there.

The trip is plained when the higher 4WD Tracks open in November.
Dargo may work.
The "High" is just to get away from the bloody flies.
Thanks for your help

Was up at
3 mile dam at xmas and it's about as high as anywhere, and the march flies were terrible. At Mt Selwyn the flies were also terrible, but at
Long Plain, they were good, so depends on where you go ?

Thanks Gronk,
We ended up with an inexpensive cottage between
Omeo and Dinner Plains. Nothing flash but will do us. That puts us in range of Davies Plains and other high country trips. Our trip is early November.
Just hope all the rain in Victoria will curb the progress of those European Wasps by then.
Thanks to all for your help.
Mike
