Hello,
I have been researching into caravans that I can tow with my 07 Prado.
My requirements are that it needs to be a 3 birth van that is light enough to be
towed by my 07 Prado.
I am a big lad so it needs to have good area for me to sit.
My preference is for a dual axle van.
I have been looking at the Jayco Starcraft outback model which seems to fit the bill in a few areas.
I do not expect to take it to really rough areas but still need it to take some out of the way spots.
If any one has some experience of the Jayco Outback models I would be interested to hear from you also recomendations of other vans that would fit the bill for me to consider.

You may need a midwife too if there is a birth or three.

I just realised I asked a similar question in '06.
I keep coming back to the Starcraft 17.58-3 outback.
Jayco out back
Any one have one?

You obviously take your time making a decision!
I tow an Australian Off Road Quantum with a 3.0 litre Prado, some have been made as 3 berth, I also have a Tvan, I know which I prefer towing, although the Prado handles the Quantum
well, it is chipped & has a 3" exhaust including the dump pipe.

Hi we have the JAYCO outback model you are looking at .It has travelled over 55000klm. And has been to the tip of the cape up the
gibb river road and several other tracks and with proper attention to tyre pressures and drive to suit conditions they will go most
places .but you need to better protect the pipe work under the van to prevent damage from rocks. The only thing that we have to replace has been the gas struts on lift up bed

You are an obviously good driver. They sure can go many
places when towed correctly adjusting tyre pressures as required.
We have a Jayco Freedom poptop and often take the less known unmade roads.
I had the tandem
suspension changed to a rocker roller leaf spring set up and have not had any trouble at all.
The only thing that we are wary off is carrying pottable water. But then we have a 100ltr water bladder.
