Hello
has anyone else had a link on the exploreoz site redirected? I had the IT man on my computer yesterday, my video card played up and went blackscreen, the image was fuzzy when we got it going again. So he downloaded the firmware and reloaded, all good. But while it was downloading, I noticed some older downloads in the list. Their web address was on this site?? All of them, I saw 3 files. Chinese porn by the title.
The only links I have used are joke links on the Friday funnies, occasionally.
Is something redirecting these links to what appears to be soft porn? For some reason my computer has downloaded these in the background and just stacked them in "downloads"?? God only knows what else, maybe explains the video issue?
So what is the solution? Dont click links on this site?

Hello
No such problem here. While I have no idea what the cause of your issue may be I suspect if is most likely related to something on your computer and nothing to do with ExplorOz.
The very occasional dodgy post (some with links) gets put on the
forum but Mods try and remove them as fast as they can - they are generally obvious so just dont click on any suspicious looking links posted on strange subjects e.g. Nissans :)
Cheers

Thanks Greg
the files definitely came from here as they had a heading starting with www.exploreoz....filename - etc etc
I dont think they were a virus, as nothing much happened, more a redirection?
Bit weird that it would cause a file to download and just sit there in "downloads"?
So I am looking at the Friday funnies links as a maybe, but seriously dont know the truth of it? Dont think its anything to dwell on.

No worries
When you say "downloads" do you mean (internet) "history"?

Greg
I have to say I wasnt watching too
well, I saw them in a window as he was downloading the new drivers for the video card, so yes, I reckon download history. He said the files were definitely downloaded, but I hadnt seen them. probably just as
well ha ha, the names were - like- "chinese sex....." they seemed to be videos?

How often do you do Malware checks? Malware can mimic sites. I once had "text enhance" on husband's laptop which was not running a Malware programme at the time. I was able to find where it had been talked about (on a different
forum) and get rid of it. What you have sounds very similar.
I can MM you links to the other
forum if you like.
