I'm currently in Broome, intending to head out Friday morning.
Was intending to camp at Silent Grove, Manning Gorge andHome Valley Station.

I intend to ring Derby Shire Council tomorrow for an update of conditions and choices.

Things are opening fast now, and it is early in the season, particularly as it has been a wet year. The washout on the Fairfield - Leopold Road may take longer, but it appears you can get to Tunnel Creek from the Great northern Highway.

It would be a shame to go through now, and not be able see key places like Bells Falls.

The roads to Kalumburu and Mitchell Falls are now open, with 7 tonne limits.

Gibb River Road open to all traffic
West Kimberley, including Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek, Silent Grove and Bells Gorge, Mt Hart. access roads closed to all traffic. West Kimberley Parks and Wildlife Service have indicated an end of May opening to these areas.

Mt Barnett and Manning Gorge - all good, so we will be traveling from Derby though to Manning Gorge in one go. The first 100km of the 306km trip along the GRR from Derby through to Mt Barnett Roadhouse is bitumen and the rest is easily obtainable at a leisurely pace and Manning Gorge campground about 7km in.
