Canning Stock Route

Yep, we contacted the Wiluna police who suggested we contact the Shire who are in charge of roads.
The lady at the Shire could only say they'd heard of some boggy troubles near Well 21.
The Granite Peaks station says their access road to the CSR is closed due to wet conditions and will remain closed for a week or so.

Yep, we're onto the Facebook CSR page.
Generally, we're trying to get as much info from any source as possible. The next few weeks in that country are going to be pretty difficult, we feel.

I agree Sandy, looks o king at various bits of info in recent weather, it could be a trip full of great challenge.
But then, they are the trips you really remember :)

If you are going South to North you could try ringing the General store at Kunnawarritji. When we finished the leg from Bililuna to Kunnawarritji we gave the staff at the store a complete run-down of that section and I assume he'd question the vehicles coming up from the south as well. 08 91769040

We'd been in contact with Kunnawarritji twice in past fortnight and received two conflicting reports: the latest being that no one had been through on the CSR in the previous fortnight (?).
We are..or we're...planning a solo S to N trip in our Hilux. We are familiar with the general country in the south and fully appreciate it will not dry out very quickly and the risk that entails for us. So we're now contemplating getting on at Kunnawarritji or even on at the Talawana and heading north. However, Cotton Creek reported that the Talawana was closed last week.
When did you get through to Kunnawaritji?
Did you leave the CSR at that point?

We did it solo and would not advise it unless you are very keen, very experienced and very well equipped. It pushed us to the limit but we were the first ones down for the year. And I had a very able assistant.
