I have my forum preference set to "Response Time", so why is that all the top threads don't show as "Updated" rather than scattered ad hoc through the first page?

Hello

If you look at an "Updated" thread then the message disappears....but their position (based on response time i.e. last time someone posted on that thread) obviously, remains the same (until someone else responds).

Wouldn't "Updated" mean that somebody had posted in the thread since my last view?

Yes, that's what I said.

A thread will only show "Updated" if a new post is made that you haven't opened. It's pretty simple.

You seem to be confusing people posting (response time) and you looking at them (Updated tag removed).

But maybe I'm reading the information you are providing wrong?

Cheers
