2005 IFS with adjustable suspension height from factory , is this prevent you from putting a lift kit and or altering the suspension at all ?

Mine is the same model.
On our trip around Australia last year, after numerous problems (with the back end sagging under load), I decided to upgrade the suspension. First stop was ARB in Darwin, who put in heavy duty rear coils and PolyAir bags. This restored the ride height (and then some!), but the actual road ride was terrible! It seems that in the standard AHC system, half the load is taken by the coils and half by the shock absorbers. By adding the new firmer coils, the shock absorbers decided that they didn't need to do anything and the result was a vehicle that bounced around dangerously on corrugated corners - almost undriveable.
On returning home, I researched and found that AutoCraft in Geelong do several of these fixes each week. There removed all of the AHC system, and fitted Bilstein Platinum torsion bars and shocks to the front, and Bilstein Platinum shocks to the rear (retaining my new ARB coils and airbags).
The result is a different vehicle. Ride is firm but controllable, even under load. Even better, it is now as upgradeable or repairable as a standard suspension setup.
Cost me about $4700, but worth it!

Thanks Barry that's great to hear you have found a solution as when I test drove mine around the side streets in 60 km and 80 km roads, the ride was harsh very hard on bumps ride quality was terrible. There was of coarse no load in the back and this car didn't have storage shelving or additional weight say of a fridge but man did you bounce around a bit. I will look into you suggested suspension mods and start pricing something to change over with.
