Dual Cab Options

D-Max is absolutely an option mate. Just not seeing as many of them. The are certainly in the mix though!

D-Max will give you longevity - don't know about the other 2 already mentioned.

Doesn't really matter what dual cab, there's also Navara, Triton, and numerous others.
But they will all five years of good service if you know their weak points (they all have them), and look after whatever you choose.
I also like the dmax, once I had the Ranger, this would have been my 2nd choice, but in the extra cab.

Don't overlook the Mazda BT50. They are identical to the Ford Ranger after the front pillar. In fact, every bit of the BT 50 is marked as FoMoCo. They are also cheaper.

Other makes of that era are pretty much the same . . . 'space challenged' :D
The next era from 2011 onwards saw most crew cab utes grow a little, with the new PX Ranger generally having the best interior room all round.

I'm certainly over dual cabs though, after the daughter came of maybe half a dozen trips with us in the first couple of years, it was then early teens, goodbye to her on trips, hello to just me and the wife.
Back seat was out pretty quick, fridge in there with arkpak 2nd battery, room for gear behind seats etc.

That's why I love the Ranger / Dmax extra cabs of that era, complete side opening up on them with the suicide doors, makes it ideal for my setup, and a foot more tray in the bargain.

Agree on the extra cab, I had a PJ Ranger for eight years and it took me everywhere I wanted to go.

For solo (like me) or couple ideal.

Something made me think the OP had children or needed the full rear seating, but looking again at first post maybe they don't.
Could be something to consider.

I have just got one of these & its the best thing since sliced bread !!!
but not so if carrying people in the back for long periods .
