Other makes of that era are pretty much the same . . . 'space challenged' :D
The next era from 2011 onwards saw most crew cab utes grow a little, with the new PX
Ranger generally having the best interior room all round.
I'm certainly over dual cabs though, after the daughter came of maybe half a dozen trips with us in the first couple of years, it was then early teens, goodbye to her on trips, hello to just me and the wife.

seat was out pretty quick, fridge in there with arkpak 2nd battery, room for gear behind seats etc.
That's why I love the
Ranger / Dmax extra cabs of that era, complete side opening up on them with the suicide doors, makes it ideal for my setup, and a foot more tray in the bargain.
