Gday
Just wondering what the road from
Balranald to Ivanhoe via
Homebush Hotel in NSW is like ....I am thinking of putting it in my future trip later this year.

Hmm, gazing into my crystal ball ( must give it a service soon, anybody know of a good place to go for this?), I have determined that at the time you want to travel, there will be an unavoidable roadworks delay that will necessitate an overnight stay at the
Homebush Hotel.

Gday
An overnight stay at
Homebush Hotel would not be a problem , its the condition of the road i was interested in.Is it bituman or dirt.
Stu....If you "Google" crystal ball repairs, there are plenty willing to do the job.

My trusty Hema map suggests that it is bitumen, Muz, with the exception of about 50kms(my guess!) of unsealed road south of Ivanhoe.
Better take a slab, didn't see any sign of a pub!

Gday Bob
Thanks, From what i can find,
Homebush is a pub and not to much of anything else. It will be good to go and have a look.

Judy and I where up that way last year It was mostly bitumen except the last 50km's at the Ivanhoe end. They were working on a new
bridge not far down from Ivanhoe and were intending to bitumen the balance of the road. Not sure how far they got, or if it is now finished

Well Peter, even Hema didn't find it, it's not marked on 2 of their maps. But at
the junction of Oxley & Ivanhoe Roads, there is a place called
Penarie, the site of the pub.
Maybe the map people don't imbibe?
Homebush Hotel, in disguise!

Bob, I found it on Google Maps. It is CAW site N759,
Homebush Hotel Campground in CAW 8. If you had clicked on the link
Homebush in the OP it would also have showed you some pictures of the pub plus its co-ordinates.
You said "Better take a slab, didn't see any sign of a pub!" If you had travelled that road I don't know how you missed it. That's why I posted a picture of the pub.

Bob Y. if you missed the
Homebush hotel in the foreign lands, you can slide down to the General Gorden Hotel at
Homebush QLD. Just a tad closer to your
home town, they also put on some good music.
Then again, it is a tad far to travel from your place on a friday night.

I haven't run up road for fair while, I would give the shire a ring, as I have a feeling it might nearly be fully sealed if not sealed all the way now.

Gday
I have an E mail from the
Balranald council and the gentleman said the only reason for a road closure would be from bad weather
