Hi guys
I'm having trouble working out if I can have a tarp over my 240 BW turbo tent.
It's an old model without an awning and its so high just makes me wonder!
I have an oztent rv1 but it only allows me to lie in one direction. Not good when on a slope.
Many thanks

Man who pitch tent on hillside, he not on the level!
We used to pitch a tarp over our
Kimberley Kamper, tent and awning, if we were in a place for a few days and the heat and lack of shade warranted it. Tarp was 20' x 16' from memory, maybe larger, and we carried a.few extra poles and ropes. Ridge ht of the K K was about 3m.

Use a tent pole to get it over the tent, "give me a lever and I'll move the world". Lateral thinking.

Maybe toss it over before you erect the tent.
Wind will make it difficult and if it turns into a sail when pegged out the noise and movement may be less than restful.

Might be worth getting the proper fly with awning for it. You can still buy one for the Turbo series as an accessory, and the newer ones even allow you to add side panels to enclose under the awning. Order online or Anaconda often have them in stock. Reason I suggest this is that with a Turbo tent the fly also provides the guy ropes for use in high wind situations.
With regard to the height issue, I leave the fly on our 15 year old Turbo 300 when packing and simply unclip the bottom of it at each leg. Saves the issue you describe of having to get the fly over the tent.

John
You can get a light weight fly type "tarp" from oztrail or one of the other camping suppliers.
I have one that is about 6m X 4m from memory it cost about $100. If set up like Dave has in the photo, it doesn't
pool water. It also packs up to nothing.
Found this link for you
