We spent 5 days around Moroka, Wonnangatta,
Blue Rag Range,
the Twins and Selwyn, covering a number of the popular spurs.
Blue Rag Range
The Steep prize goes to Basalt Knob Tk South where the odd zig zag lets you see side-on the the next pitch and get a clearer idea of the grade, where it's only psychological inertia that keeps you in!
Basalt Knob Tk
The Pucker prize goes to Hart Spur Tk which has a big hole right in the middle of a steep pitch. I decided to span it and that worked but it was close. Slipping in wouldn't have been fun.
Remarkably a group with camper trailers came down it that day too. Hats off to them.
Herne Spur was straightforward.
Billy Goat Bluff was pretty rough, much more so than the first time I went down it. For trivia buffs, it's a 17 degree average grade from top to bottom.
That there's so much of it is perhaps what gives it its rep.

Stunning country - the whole area. I remember Blue Rag as being steep, but crikey, was it that steep?

I recall one pitch as steep but not otherwise. Talking about out to the trig point only. We'd been advised that the spur down to the river was requiring winching.

Thanks.
I had hoped to get down there. A pretty remote end-of-the-line.

Thanks Mick.
It's micro four thirds gear. A Panasonic G85 with a kit lens (14-140mm) and of course a polarising filter.
