Can anyone tell me how to "reset" the odometer after oil change/service on a FG XR6 falcon please.
Thanks
Ted

I'll get henpecked if I said Just google it so heres what it said on a Ford
Forum when I googled" Reset service light in a FG XR6"
Quote
"Just want to know how to reset the service lights on a fg xr6
If you are talking about a maintenance service reminder light the FG does not have one.
What service light are you talking about? The hand book and FG repair manual does not show any service light."

You cant set an ODO back to zero but you should be able to set the trip reading and it will tell you how to do that in the cars manual

You could buy an ELM 327 plug (about $10 on EBay), and download the Torque App onto a smart phone or tablet
You plug the Elm into the service socket - usually located below the steering wheel, bluetooth connect to your smart phone, launch Torque, start the car, then clear logs

You could give this a go
Reset The Warning Service Light (Spanner Icon)
- Press and hold Odometer Reset while ignition is off.
- Turn Ignition to on.
- Hold Odometer Reset in until you hear a Beep or the wrench disappears.

Not sure what the other posters replies meant, I presume you mean one of the trip meters, either A or B. Select either one by briefly pushing and releasing the 'ODO' button and when the desired A or B trip reading is showing hold the ODO button down for 2 seconds and the selected trip reading will return to zero. The ignition must be turned on, obviously. Good luck, Phil.

Thanks all for your interest. There is no service light involved.
I normally travel with the “A” trip meter displayed. It seems to me now that I have clocked up 60000km,(service due)that each time I get in the car It defaults to the odometer and displays the total distance the car has travelled as an alert, then after starting the car the “A” trip display resumes.
I presume that displaying total kilometers is in place of the spanner that was used in earlier Falcons to warn that a service is due.
(Then perhaps this has happened all the time and I have not noticed it.)

If that is the case then although it is not a service light it is the equivalent of a service light. See my earlier reply for how to get it back to what it used to be.

Why don't you just call into a Ford dealership.
