The
Ivanhoe Crossing over the
Ord River just north of
Kununurra has been reopened after repairs. We were told it was closed also partly because some people crashing off the crossing.

How things can change without notice. We drove through twice, there and back, and saw probably another 20 vehicles both on the 29th and 30th May.

The guy fishing is taking a huge risk. crocs are known to frequent the downstream pools.
My wife and I were at
Ivanhoe Crossing in the mid 90's when the police began shooting at an "alleged" crocodile that was "allegedly" trying to attack an "alleged" offender who was "allegedly" trying to escape.
Neither the croc or the offender where seen again.
When we went through last year, there were some bloody big boulders blocking the crossing. These aren't evident in your photos. I reckon if they wanted it closed, they would still be there?
Cheers
Anthony

Re control of the crossing; we only came in, and went out from the
Kununurra end. The
Kununurra end is now controlled by gates at the top of the river bank. They were open each time we were there. We can only presume that there are similar gates on the northern end. We did not go right through but much of the traffic we saw did go right through and were not just having fun.

The gates on the
Kununurra end were open on the 30th and we and others drove accross and back. Saw some locals also aware it was open.
