Hi All, 2 basic questions I hope

1. Can I drive 80 series, towing a trakshak, from Derby to Windjana Gorge thru Tunnel Creek and leopold Downs...then onto the Great Northern Hwy?? ( I dont now the name of this road from GRR to The Great nth Hwy)

2. How long could I expect to take, driving from Curtin Springs to Ormiston Gorge Via Mereenie Loop??.

Cheers in advance...and Oh!..the mighty Tiges are back!!!
Mick.

1. Yes...You can drive a 2wd through there
2. About half a day, if you are in a hurry, but more if you want to have a look at Kings Canyon and Gosse Bluff along the way

Cheers

Can't help with no.1 but I agree with Willem on no.2. Would be a crying shame to do that drive without doing Kings Canyon and the Bluff. Would I be right in thinking you intend to stay at Curtin Springs. If you drive about a further 180 k's (all bitumen) you can get comparitively cheap camping at Kings Creek Station ( much cheaper than Kings Canyon Resort). Give yourself at least half a day to see Kings Canyon. Do the walk over the top. First 40 minutes is hard work but well worth the effort. Better than Ayers Rock IMHO. The Bluff is only about a half hour detour and is a good place for lunch or morning tea.
Have a good one

Hi guys no 1 the road is the Leopold downs road and runs from the Gibb river road to the great Northen highway about 40 K south of Fitzroy Crossing, The road is easy but has very sharp rocks ( I did in a brand new Cooper) The tunnel creek is worth seeing, Windana Gorge was qne of the highlights of our trip, I towed my Jako off road camper all over this area no problems. We saw several off road type caravans along the way. My rig photo was taken under a tree on that road.
