hi all I am , looking at having an ibis air conditioning installed to my 22 ft caravan external measurements of the caravan the question is has anyone had or knows of problems with them if any & if they had a claim on warranty were they easy to deal with helping with any problems or could any recommend any other brands of air conditioning out there. Thank you in advance to all.

We have a number of members of our club who have the Ibis Roof Top Aircon. They seem happy with them and they also seem to be a bit quieter than most.

I recently put a new conditioner on top of my van to replace the Dometic. It is a Denso, made in Melbourne, probably from imported parts. It seems OK but probably a bit noisier than most of the Ibis I've heard.

Had an AC Ibis on our van for 6 years...never had an issue with it...works very well overall, both heating and cooling. Couple of points.... 1. Trying to sleep with it running is impractical in my view...compressor clunks in and out. They have safety limitations for ambient temps...eg., below 4C the heat cycle won't run (icing risks overload and fire)...I think there is a top limit too.....but I presume all good AC's have such issues. For very low noise, it seems domestic split systems are the go these days.

Gooday,
We had aDometic fitted at build, have used it about twice in 10 years, noisy piece of Junk.
hat a lot are doing is fitting a Domestic one ? the price, efficient, quiet, and will run off a 1KVa Generator.
They fit the the Compressor part on the Drawbar and some I know have placed the head at the foot of the bed on the floor, subject to room. Don't believe all the talk that they will not stand up to it.

Well worth investigating, probably a lot lighter than one of the Roof top Dinosaurs ours weighs 46 KG.

The only other I would consider looking at is a "Truma", met someone with one about 6 months ago was as quiet and efficient as a Domestic one, though they had had the first 2 replaced under warranty in the first year, had to pay for the third one but it was amazing ,but still a couple of Thousand Dollars.
Cheers,
