Hi all....
I was reading about the problems some people were having with there Forester X. I have just updated my Forester X to a 2004 Hyundai Terracan 5 speed. The forester's clutch started to slip at 15000kms. Also the hill holder sometimes would not let go and I have to disengage it manually. I am very happy with the Terracan and was wondering if anyone (in sydney) knew of a place that fits steel side steps.

Hi

We have had our Terracan since mid last year, about 12000 kms. No probs so far. Fingers cross. Have done a few trips offroad and towed a little.

I am looking at the Integra steps.

Interested to hear from other owners.

Bought my Terracan last October and last weekend turned over 10,000kms on my way to Wombeyan Caves for the weekend. I tow a Camp-O-Matic camper trailer (weighs about 1 tonne all loaded) and the Terracan tows it with great ease. I have not had any problems as yet and I am extremely pleased with the vehicle. Even the fuel consumption is getting better as the car gets more km's on it. Mind you I knew it would be a little hard on fuel but I have no complaints with the Terracan at all. I am predicting that there will be a lot more of them around in years to come as they are NOT a "soft off roader" as many claim and I can't see anything in the price range for what you get with the Terracan. I have even heard at last years Sydney Motor Show that Hyundai expect to be the 3rd biggest seller of vehicles in Australia within 5 years. All I can say is they have a good product and back it up with service so maybe some of the other manufacturers will get a shake up they deserve.

Mate, it is a Manual. They wanted an extra $3500 for Auto and as I do a lot of towing and I wanted the manual for towing.
Still very happy with the Terracan and would recommend it to anyone.
Cheers

YOu would have to go custom for that model in steel, maybe Nick mannel, or Overkill in Hornsby could either do, or put you onto some one who do?

Integra steps are made by Bushranger, try 4WD Megastores
