Hello fellow formites,
Just back from my trip down to Victoria, I guess i shouldnt have posted the fact that i was heading down cause im buggered if i saw many cars while i was down there. Guess they were all getting dirty.
Just wanted to let u know how the beast went on her first big trip with me as her owner.
I filled up at
home 140 ltrs. Set the trip meter to zero on departure.
Arrived at my destination 11 hours later with 910 on the trip meter and just over 1/4 of a tank left.
Comming
home....
Filled up and on departure.
Set trip meter to zero
Returned during the day this time (trip down was night driving)
932 Kms on arrival
home (got lost in the Vic city)..dont laff
Pushed the old girl hard all the way, testing out my mods to my cooling setup.
Used 135 Ltrs fuel on arrival.
Engine temp was never above half, which was something i have not done before. So my point here is, I guess my experiment worked. I now have a GQ that dont overheat, even under heavy loads.
Was not concerned about fuel usage heading
home though as i wanted to
test the temp more than economy.
Regards Angelo.

Glad it went
well for but where the heck do you live to get such a green lush lawn. Is that legal...gotta be a law against it :) You gotta live in the wet northern states ?

I thought that was a computer enhanced
pic, or he had parked on a golf course, no way i could ever get my lawn like that.
Angelo, What mods did you do to your Nissan to conquer the heating probs? i did a search of the archives but didn't have any luck, may have typed in the wrong key words. i am about to leave for a few days with the new CT, and I am a bit worried about how the GQ will handle it.

My lawn is as dead as everyone elses im affraid.
That
pic was taken In Wagga Wagga on the front lawn of the previous owner. I asked for some pics before heading down there from
my home suburb of downtown Bankstown Sydneyto buy the 4B. Sure as hell wasnt gonna drive all that way without seeing pics.

Hi Greg,
If you send me your email addy I'll send u the details on my mods to date.
Just remember...these mods were done to solve MY hot temp problems. They are NOT a total fix for most other GQ's.
But common sense is the key here. Take notes of WHEN it starts to rise in temp (what speed, What gear, Temp etc) then you have a place to start.
Most of my fixes are simple ones.
