Codan HF. Fitting same to a Colorado Dual Cab

Thanks Baz. I have it mounted on a plate on the rear door of my Pajero & it works a treat. I am pretty sure that mounting it on the front of the vehicle wouldn't work because it would obstruct forward vision. It is the thick short aerial not the broomstick type. I think a fold down type bracket on the rear "somewhere" I am just fishing for ideas,maybe someone has mounted an antenna on a dual cab with a canopy attached & maybe steer me in the right direction. Isn't that a Codan 3040 antenna and isn't it supposed to be installed with the whip fully above the roofline?

yes, it is 3040, not sure where I got 3050 from. It has the whip that attaches to the section I have on there. Possibly not optimal positioning but works okay.

My 3040 is fitted to the top of the rear wheel carrier (about the same height as Baz's).

It was fitted by the radio mob who installed the radio.

I normally just run the stainless steel whip, but if I need better reception, I put the short fibreglass whip that you can see on the back of Baz's Latoya (never sure if it's called the Landy or Toyota LOL)

As a matter of interest, on a trip along the Anne Beadell last year, the whip went under a branch of a tree and came back with enough inertia and force to crack the solar panel on the roof.

Note to Baz – Take whip off when under trees!
