G`day Stephen,
I think I put this as a reply on our
forum some time ago, anyway doesn`t matter.
I was camped on the
Cooper Creek near
Windorah (very dirty water) and the couple in the next
camp had several tubs of creek water on their table, they had sprinkled some white ash (wood ash) from the fire on top of the water the evening before, and now this morning he was siphoning the clear water off into buckets using about 10mm clear hose, all the time being careful not to disturb the sludge that had settled in the bottom of the tubs. The water was very clear and they said they used this for everything except drinking.
Going to try it one day.
Scrubby.

Hi Scrubby
That is another one to try for sure, but time wise, I wonder how it would compare to the Epsom Salts?
In the end I was getting crystal clear water in 6 hours, either way is is still fun doing it.
Thanks for letting us know of the ash trick.
Cheers
Stephen
