Hi Stephen and Fiona.
We were with the group you met up with at
Annandale. (We have the TVan)
Thanks for your advice re heading out to the geographical centre. We decided not to attempt it. We crossed via the Rig line and met up with them at
Purni Bore (they didn't make it, got to within 40km and gave up.) We then came back via the Maddigan Line. Our Tvan travelled
well, with only one snatch, up until Frank broke his rear diff housing and axle halfway over the Maddigan!
We then took a lot of his gear and the extra weight caught us out (4snatches)
Franks mechanic used star pickets (that we carried!) and a portable mig welder hooked up to 3 batteries and glued it up enough to drive out and up the
Hay river and up to Alice
Love to catch up with you and give you the gossip.
Regards, Gary and Suzanne
