I just thought some of you guys might enjoy this, it is an interactive map of the Leichhardt Expedition from Moreton Bay to Port Essington, 1844-1845

I certainly have enjoyed this fantastic site. Just type a name in - I am interested in explorers, but this also has a terrific biography of Australian Engineer, Anthony George Michelle from Melbourne.
Wouldn't mind driving to Port Essington as well.

Yeah Thanks heaps Steve. My old man was a dedicated follower of explorer trails and I have some of his re-creations on paper with old slides but this is so much better.

There's a wealth of reading there, and superimposed on Google Earth, one can relate to cuurent towns, roads and highways.
