If you're travelling with kids, here's an app to keep them occupied and actually get them out exploring. It's called
Questabird. It's an outdoor adventure game where players compete by photographing birds in the wild, join quests, earn gold, buy supplies, gain levels, build their collection - and help document and protect Australia's biodiversity. All sightings end up in the
Atlas of Living Australia.
It's free for the version with 2400 bird species. There's a paid upgrade to include all other animals. It's only available for Android (so far).

Hi Hilux fan,
I tried to download this app, unfortunately it didn't want to know my Samsung tablet; maybe its still being rolled out. Looks like a good idea though.
Cheers,
Val.

Sounds like a 2014 version of the 1960s BP Spotto!
Spotto cards were given out a BP service stations (remember when they meant what they were called), the cards had cartoon like images of items likely to be seen on a car trip & the kids marked them off as they spotted them.
