When we were in Tassie a while back we saw some light-weight gum boots (very similar to the Croc ones but a hell of a lot cheaper) in a local hardware store. Unfortunately they didn't have my size. Specifically after the light ones for around camp.
Been looking ever since but can't find them anywhere. Anyone happen to know where they are sold (apart from at Crocs stores).

Krooznalong

I saw some super light weight gum boots (Wellington Boots) at our uniform supplier last week.
They were "Mack" brand from what I recall and our uniform company is Kickarse Workware (yes, that is correct) Botany Road, Alexandria, Sydney, NSW.

Hope this helps
Regards
John

Thanks John
Good company name!
I probably should have mentioned that I'm in Brisbane and thus I was after either a local or internet based supplier.
But your post did give me the idea to check any local similar places. I'll also check out Mack boots. Thanks again

Krooz,

Best mud boots I've ever had were a pair of good quality, ankle length, skin diving boots. Light on the feet, zip closure on side, and in the notorious, wet Qld black soil, picked up hardly an ounce of mud. We used them while repairing floodgates on the Diamantina River. Being lightweight, you didn't knock up quite as easily, carrying a boot covered in mud and silt.

Don't think they'd be too good where you were handling heavy items.....wouldn't be much foot protection!!!

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.

I just bought some lightweight gumboots for myself and my 2yo daughter from our local produce store (that sells animal feed and farm stuff). Perhaps there is one near you that you could try?
