Hi All

Insulation to the head piece has degraded badly and is falling to bits. I note it is not just a screw or plug in cord either.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to resolve it. We purchased our radio new in Adelaide but now live in Darwin. Vehicle always housed undercover. Have sent an email to Codan and am awaiting a response.

Thanks

Lyndon

Not a cheap radio either - don't leave the email sitting for long - get on the phone as well - my guess is they will replace the lead for you under warranty, more so seeing that you are the original owner. Barrett looked after me extremely well on a couple of technical issues with my 950, years after their 3 year warranty had expired.....and I was not the original owner !

Just take it to the local Codan dealer and get a new one fitted.
No big deal.

I bought a new lead for $65 and fitted it myself. No soldering involved.

Lyndon,
It's amazing what a strip of plastic insulation tape can do.
Wrap it round the busted area and it will be as good as new till you get a new handpiece.

Disco.

LOL, yes, in an emergency, not quite what I had in mind for a 4K radio.

Cheers
