Hi all,
I own a 89 Petrol 4.2L GQ Nissan Patrol SWB. I am currently returning pretty ordinary fuel figures of around 6Km/L or 17L/100Km. Does this sound about right??
PS I have 2.5 inch exhaust and extractors.

Graham,
That actually sounds on the good side for that engine! I am sure you must have the manual gearbox to achieve results like that – the auto was an absolute shocker when it came to fuel consumption.

Yep its a manual...I spose the fuel usage is not too drastic, but just wanted to be sure it sounded OK.

Colin,
mine is a 92 mav non turbo diesel with genie extractors but still with stock pipe and muffler/res in place. I would like to fit 2.5 pipe and more efficient muffler but haven't found anyone with experience to recommend suitable brand with acceptable note etc. , diesel compatible. Big noise doesn't turn me on ! Could you please details of your system ?

Graham
I have a 1993 4.2l EFI Petrol 4sp auto wagon Stock standard all over. Around town figures vary between 23 and 17.5l/100km. On the freeway, I can achieve 14/100k. Fantastic hey?? Not...
I will add extractors and bigger tubes eventually. Have you tried a "Hi Clone" device? 1 is supposed to be good, 2 is even better. Don't know anyone that has actually had one fitted though.
I am thinking that saving a bit and trading in for a 4.2 TD GU might be a better option, but have to wait for a 2nd hand below $45k.
