Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with diagnosis:
When starting the prado, it starts idles for about 3-4 seconds then turns off and shows engine warning light. When I try to start again it takes about double the time to start normally (not straight away) then runs fine. This only has happened after driving about 100kms of driving and not every time.
Maybe once every 2 weeks.
Any help would be appreciated

try pradopoint.com.au or lcool.org these forums are prado and toyota specific and would probably be able to give you a better response (if not already there)

Seen a similar problem with earlier diesel Prados. The cause then was sucking a little air in through the fuel filter. In one case it was a very fine crack in the plastic base of the fuel filter. Has it had the fuel filter replaced recently?

Hi. If the engine
check light is coming on it will leave a fault code (both petrol or diesel) in the computer. You will need to find someone with a scan tool to plug in and read the code. Your dealer, an auto electrician or most mechanics will have a scan tool. Cheers,Bob

Hi, this might be a silly question but have you checked the oil level? if it is low the computer may be getting a bit pissy.
