I have a 2007 200 series and the glovebox lid will not stay shut, I have lubricated the 2 plungers which keep it closed but a week later the plungers still stay in the depressed position.I think it is an easy fix if I can remove the inside liner of the lid to gain access to the internal components, but I can't work out how to get it apart- does anyone know how to do it? thanks

I get a similar problem from time to time. For me I just pull them out with pointy nosed pliers etc and all seems to work for a time until the process is repeated.

I don't believe the cover comes off without breaking it. A new one is a million dollars so
I just persist with the old one and we always close it very gently so as not to push the plungers in too far.

If you find a permanent solution there must be plenty of 200 owners out wanting to know.

Yep same happened to me, and ever since we now shut it with the gentle touch of a butterfly's wing. Unbelievably annoying that such a simple thing, can take the polish off..........
