This 8th edition touts itself as "The most comprehensive one-volume book of identification" ,
well after having used it now I'm inclined to agree. Chock full of illustrations of each bird, their variations, habitat maps plus extra drawings. When applicable will show same bird standing, in flight, male, female, juvenile. Colouring is covered in detail, size, song, breeding season, habits.
A nice handy size and easy to find your way around in. I've covered
mine in clear contact because it's going around Australia with me. Very impressed with it.
