It is looking very likely that we will be staying in Darwin for a minimum of 2 months, starting in the next week or two. Can anybody tell me which would be the best caravan parks in Darwin. Cheers

Hi Rebecca we are currently in Darwin staying at FreeSpirit and its fine. I have not stayed at any of the others in Darwin so can't comment on them. They are fairly well booked here, but don't rely on the website if you want to book, best to phone and ask.

Hi Rebecca

we too are staying at Free Spirit. Rolled up today after our other accomodation fell through. Jam packed. Told by staff it was booked out. Waited. Told again it was booked out but computer playing up. Waited. Finally fitted in to an un powered site. My only advice, book early and negotiate a rate as it is expensive in each of the parks.....

cheers

We spent a fortnight at the Howard Springs CP this time last year and it was clean and tidy and management were very helpful. It is about 12 km from the city but close to major shopping centres and suited us just fine. It is the busy period so they're all a bit fullish at the moment.

Enjoy your stay. Cheers ...................... Kev.

Howard Springs is 35km from city. Has a great pub / tavern. Friendly place to be!

Do you need to be right in Darwin, or would out at Howard Springs be close enough? Those in Darwin are mostly in flight paths from the central airport, and can be hard to get into at short notice.

A very good point. The fighter jets overhead are a novelty that quickly wear off!
Like others are mentioning, Howard Springs is a good option. We stayed at Discovery Park who are the closest to Darwin Centre and it's still a 10 minute + drive anyhow. Howard Springs a much better park out the back by far in our humble opinion.
Good luck and enjoy your stay up there :-)
