I am heading off on a trip in mid July along the Old Gunbarrel Hwy and then down the
Connie Sue Hwy. While near the
Rawlinson Range I would have liked to visit Circus Water,
Gorge of Tarns and Sladen Waters if possible. I wondered if anyone on the
forum has been into these areas and how it was accessed.
I am considering either trying to obtain permission to use a private track running parallel to the range on the north side or hiking across.

Hi Tony
I applied for permits for the very same areas a few years ago and was knocked back, saying it was out of bounds to all but the local Aboriginal people.
You could try again, they can only say no.
Cheers

Thanks Stephen, Yes I will try applying for a permit.
Do you think it would be practical to go around the western end of the Rawlinson and some off track travelling into Circus
rock hole? Failing that do you think it would be necessary to get a permit if hiking across from the Old Gunbarrel Hwy.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony
If you went in via
Lake Christopher, they still will not issue permits.
For some reason, they do not want people there.
Give it a try and see how you go.
Get in contact with Joan Groves in
Perth, you might have better luck than me.
Cheers
Stephen
