You can happily stay out at
Rainbow Valley, I think its 10-15km from the main road. This time of the year its going to be pretty cold out there overnight. Stuarts
Well aka Jims Place has just changed ownership so not sure where they are at in the transition. There is really not much there at all, you've got the Camel
Farm next door, you can run down to Henbury and the visit there will probably be an hour or so, there isnt that much to see.
If you have time I would STRONGLY suggest
Kings Canyon, go down via Ernest Giles road then hang a right, that is definately worth seeing.
The ONLY advice I would give to exploring on dirt roads, let the tyres down. I've seen so many folks drive out 50km on dirt roads thinking they are wasting their time doing that because others dont. I have a high volume ARB unit and I can get air back into the tyres in 10 minutes or less.... Dropping them form 40psi to 28 is a no brainer and the ride is SO much more comfortable....
If there is anything specific you'd like to know about
places up here dont be shy to ask :-)
