Just picked up the 07 Disco with a my new pair of Great White 18 Led Spots fitted - AMAZING! These are the brightest, whitest lights i have ever owned, they leave my old Lightforce Genises 35w HIDs for dead. The distance they achieve and spread from a "pencil" spot is simply incredible.

The era of the LED has surely well and truly begun!

for $1200 a pair they would want to be good. I can not see why anyone would need to spend that amount of money on 2 spot lights unless they have money coming out of there ears . Enjoy them while you can ,,some low life will take a liking to them when they realize how much they can sell them for

We run $2000 (two lights) worth of Hella HID's on the front of our Landcruiser and the same on our Ranger, we do a lot of night driving when we are travelling and excellent lights are high on our priority for safety and with helping lower driver fatigue.

It's good to see negativity is live and well.

We only use LED lights on Heavy Mobile plant and our roadtrains, durability and light output is hard to match. Never having to change bulbs or any maintance make them very atractive from an operational point of veiw.

Have used Great Whites a couple of times, and they're pretty good. A better imho, albeit more bulky alternative, is the 40" light bars sold by Snake Racing, at about the same price.

Anyone who bags someone for buying/using these LED lights obviously has never experienced the amount and quality of light they produce. For anyone doing a lot, or even a moderate amount of night driving, they are the best for safety and stress free driving.

The extra reaction time available, to miss a 'roo or bullock, would pay for the lights anyway, after a near miss or two.

Bob.

Not a negative ,just a heads up, if you go to Supercheap the exact yes exact same light is round the $200 mark each , the only difference is packaging , Great Whites just like 99.9% of LED's are made in China using 'cree' led's............

Sorry Alloy, totally disagree. Its the quality of the Cree, the cree is the little square thing that lights up, companies like Baja design and Great Whites specify to the cree manufacturer the type of cree, hours they want it to last, light intensity and whiteness required!
They will put in an order for say 2000 of these and it can take the Cree manufacturer to produce upto 100s of thousands of this quality cree just to get those perfect 2000 required. The cost of producing the 100s x 1000s is then amortized over the sale of the 2000 to the companies hence a dearer light.
Guess what happens to the not so perfect ones? Supercheap and cheap lights! Buy one and see how quickly it will lose its brightness and whiteness.

You cannot substitute quality and LEDs are no different its just the general punter is not as educated on LED and Crees as they are so relatively new.

P.S dont start me on Lumens! At this point in time there is no legislated way of testing them. I mean so everyone is measuring the light output at same distance and temperature. but thats a whole other chapter.

David if your prepared to lose $1200 on a roo strike so be it , go to some other sites ,such as FJCC and you will see that people have done comparisons using light meters ETC to measure the lumens ,, also the exact same lights you have which are sold by Supercheap are one of the few items not "branded" by the manufacturer specifically for Supercheap ,, actually for Rocket Ridge , same factory.

OMG Alloy! (that means "Oh my God" just in case you didnt know) You are not serious? I went and had a look at your - Quote "exactly the same" light at Supercheap and thats exactly what they are! SUPERCHEAP!!!
The only thing similar is they are round and black. They are selling rubbish for $229, they have 17 x 3w crees and claim to put out 3000 lumens Vs Great Whites at 18 x 5w Crees and 7000 lumens (i know who ill trust!) and lets not go near the IP rating (look it up if you dont know what that is) im sure you dont.

And about the roo strike, at least i will see them coming!!

Oh and the FJCC site? Surely not an FJ Cruiser??!!
