Hi,
We are VERY time poor at present, but would love to get away for even a night with 4wd and caravan from
Perth metro area.
We don't mind free-camping (caravan totally self sufficient), and the more bush-camping style the better. Love a campfire!!
We already go to Dwellingup - which is great, but keen on alternatives.
Before we put the van away in storage to put us out of our misery looking at it in the driveway - can anyone suggest anywhere close to
Perth that they would recommend for a night or two away??
All suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks
Alan

Dryandra Woodland 164 km south-east of
Perth, down near Narrogin, we have camped there quite a few times.
There are areas for caravans, camper trailers and tenters. Open fires are permitted and during the season and they provide firewood.

G'day Alan
New Norcia is far enough away from
Perth, yet close enough ~ if that makes sense.
Not 100% sure on campfires in the open, but a fire contained in a firedrum would be nice and also quite safe (byo firewood)
The service station folk will happily book you in and take your camping fee.
It is a nice place to visit for a day then stay overnight on the Oval ~
camping area, then head back to to rat race.
Safe travels :

Gidday
Yornaning Dam just north of Cuballing. Old railway
dam is now a lovely fresh water lake, there are long drops and fire pits there.
Cheers

Great place we stopped in at one time. Fairly quiet and easy access by caravan but not a lot of people use the place.
Nice write up on one of those camping forums.

Lake Poorarecup near Frankland is nice, plenty of water. Also Lake Nunijup in the same area is worth a look.

Hi Alan
It's not
free camping but Moondyne Caravan Park at
Toodyay is a lovely spot with lots of bush around. Only an hour from
Perth and an easy one for even just one night.

Can't beat Pemberton.
Camp area at Drafty's
Pool in the
forrest. 4WD through the dunes to the mouth of the Warren River. Calcup and Yeagerup Dunes. Marron and Trout at the local in town!
