Gday fellow travellers. We just passed a couple of warm, balmy days in
Kununurra and found, quite by accident, a cheaper fuel (diesel) outlet.
It is 7kms out on the Weaber Plain road on the left just past the big
rock that sits on the side of the road. It is a 24 hr credit card only bowser and is available to anyone.
It is currently 168.3 cents per litre which is 20c cheaper than any other outlet in the town. That has got to be worth the drive if you need a tank full!! The instructions are clear and easy and there is plenty of room for a big rig to turn around also. So, as we have seen plenty of fellow travellers on the road, I thought I would let you all know and happy savings and travels.

That's a good tip.
If anyone's heading from Kununnurra to
Wyndham it's handy to know the fuel in
Wyndham is cheaper than than Kununnurra by up to 20 cents a litre.
Cheapest fuel up the
Kalumburu Rd is at
McGowans Island.

Just be wary of any credit card fees that may be charged once you receive your credit card statement. Are some card only sites down our way, but on top of the cheaper fuel they then add on afterwards a % credit card fee

There were no extra fees or even any need to enter a PIN they simply charged the exact fee for the diesel we purchased.

Thanks, does anyone know if these credit card outlets are cheaper in general?- I have seen several in my travels-often used by truckies as
well.

Only cheap if you pay the FULL amount of your card before the interest free period every month ,, you'll find that truckies have a corporate fuel card or a card issued by
Shell -
Caltex -BP etc. that is part of their finance /lease package ,,, you will also find that the ONLY reason that the unmanned so called credit card outlets are sometimes cheaper is that the owner/operator has not had time to change the bowser price in accordance with the price fluctuations that happen day in day out in the big smoke......

Also possibly no cost of office and office staff. I have only seen them using a brand card - I didn't know if these took any credit cards - if they did.
